Company Background: Client A is a is a privately-held, technology-based clinical trials organization that provides key drug development services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies involved in the development of new therapeutic drugs and medical devices. Since 2001, Client A has provided a portfolio of clinical trial services that reduce the stress, time, cost, and risk associated with the development of new therapeutics.

Client A's estimated IT services budget for 2007 is $600K.

Business Situation: Once a startup organization, Client A was looking for an IT services partnership to take their business to the next level technologically as well as align their business processes. They also wanted the ability to grow the company exponentially and to have a flexible enough infrastructure that would facilitate this growth and scalability. They also needed to be HIPAA compliant and provide the right network security schemes to gather their data feeds from Pfizer, Inc. Technical situation: Client A requested that Network Infrastructure Technology perform a full assessment of their business and technology structures in order to provide them with the best possible solutions for their organization. After we assessed Client A's needs and long term plans for growth, we used best practices, Project Management resources, and vendor alliances to fulfill the technological requirements needed for Client A in accordance with HIPAA compliancy standards.

Solution: Since 2001, Network Infrastructure Technology has provided Client A with a wide range of technical services from help desk support to computer network design and implementation according to the growth of the company. Our accomplishments include a self contained comprehensive backup solution, server implementations for e-mail and web services and a NAS solution with over 4 TB of data storage. In addition, we designed a site-to-site VPN from Client A's headquarters to their data management office and implemented a secure terminal service with RSA encryption for external/remote users. Our services extended into the medical field with evaluating, implementing software and hardware that fulfilled their needs.

Network Infrastructure Technology also helped in developing some of the internal processes like a Standard of Procedures documentation program to validate all of the hardware and software equipment on-site for any audits. We worked closely with QA management to create all documentation of all computer systems and Information Management protocols for development of a disaster recovery plan.
